Title: The Last Advice

Year: 1861

Creator: Vanity Fair

Description: A strangely pudgy Jefferson Davis and a skinnier Abraham Lincoln – both carrying guns – are confronted by a whip-carrying, beardless “Uncle Sam” in a star-spangled vest:

Uncle Sam: ‘Here! Here! What’s this mean?”
Lincoln: “Why, this here Jeff Davis and his fellers been a crowin’ over us long enough, and now there’s going to be a row.”
Uncle Sam: “Well, now! IF you are going to fight, mind you fight like your father – go!”
