Description: Southern soldier is shown presenting a “promisory note” to President Lincoln which states “I promise to subdue the South in 90 days. Abe Lincoln.” The southerner says: “Your ‘ninety days’ promissory note isn’t taken up yet, sirree!” In reality, the President had never made such a promise but northern supporters thought quick action would subdue the south.
